Through the “Backing Our Soldiers” project, our organization works to strengthen the spirit, faith, and sense of belonging among IDF soldiers and their families. We provide spiritual, educational, and community-based support as an integral part of the overall effort to sustain our front-line soldiers.

The project aims to enhance the moral and mental resilience of soldiers, based on the understanding that spiritual support is inseparable from operational readiness. All activities are conducted in cooperation with commanders, military rabbis, and field personnel, tailored to the needs identified within the military system itself.

“Backing Our Soldiers” includes several key initiatives:

  • Tefillin and Jewish Ritual Items
  • Mezuzot and Tzitzit
  • Observing Jewish Holidays
  • Torah Scroll Dedications
  • Support for Soldiers’ Families
  • Memorial Day (Yom HaZikaron)

Our work is carried out with a professional and responsible approach, ensuring that every soldier has a warm, supportive, and strengthening resource—in routine times and in emergencies alike.

Tefillin and Jewish Ritual Items

This initiative focuses on providing Jewish ritual items to IDF soldiers, with a special emphasis on Tefillin, to strengthen their spiritual and traditional connection during service. The project supplies high-quality Tefillin, prayer books (Siddurim), and other religious articles to soldiers who do not have their own or cannot afford them. This activity serves as a vital link between the home front and the front lines, offering spiritual support during challenging periods and helping soldiers uphold Jewish tradition within the military framework.

Mezuzot and Tzitzit

This initiative works to strengthen the Jewish identity of IDF soldiers by installing kosher Mezuzot on military bases and distributing high-quality Tzitzit to any soldier who requests them. The project ensures that these fundamental mitzvot (commandments) can be observed even in field conditions and on army camps, allowing soldiers to maintain their connection to tradition. All activities are carried out in cooperation with the Military Rabbinate and are adapted to the needs of various units.

Observing Jewish Holidays

This initiative is dedicated to bringing the joy of the holidays to every soldier throughout the Jewish calendar year. The project provides everything necessary for proper holiday observance on bases and outposts—from traditional ritual items and festive kosher food to special celebratory activities. This allows soldiers to feel the festive spirit even when far from home and strengthens their connection to Jewish heritage within the military framework.

Torah Scroll Dedications

This initiative involves the scribing of ornate Torah scrolls and organizing their dedication ceremonies at IDF bases. The project connects the home front and the front lines through moving events where families, donors, and soldiers participate in writing the final letters and escorting the Torah scroll to its new home. The presence of a Torah scroll in combat units provides a significant spiritual anchor, enables proper prayer services, and instills a sense of continuity and tradition, even in challenging battlefield conditions.

This initiative provides comprehensive support for the families of reservists in need during periods of service. The project supplies diverse food packages, seasonal clothing, basic hygiene products, footwear, and other essentials to families whose primary breadwinners have been called up for extended reserve duty. We operate with complete discretion, recognizing the vital contribution that these families make to national security and expressing the deep value of mutual responsibility within Israeli society.

Memorial Day (Yom HaZikaron)

This initiative focuses on distributing personal water bottles to visitors at military cemeteries on Yom HaZikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day for fallen soldiers and victims of terror. The project provides an essential service on what is often a hot day, when thousands visit the cemeteries to remember their loved ones. The activity is carried out with the respect and solemnity befitting the day, serving as a small but meaningful gesture of support for bereaved families and the public during this national day of remembrance.
